The society that we live in is a collection of a number of family units. Family is the smallest social unit in a society. A person becomes a member of a family by birth. In the same manner, a person spends his whole life as a member of the family. In relation to various other social institutions that prevail in the society, the family consists of a few members. In addition to that, the family bonds are very strong among the members of a family. Close interpersonal relationships bind the family members with one another. Members of a family help each other all the time in order to fulfill their various needs. They act for the betterment of their family members.
